Another Man's War book release party
On Tuesday, May 5th, the Camden House became home to a star-studded book release party, book signing and charity fundraiser when it welcomed Sam Childers, author of the new book, ANOTHER MAN'S WAR: The True Story Of One Man's Battle To Save Children In The Sudan.
Childers is known worldwide as The Machine Gun Preacher, a former drug dealer and violent outlaw biker who turned his life around, eventually becoming a preacher and, ultimately, a one-man army in Sudan fighting one of the world's most notorious terrorists - Joseph Kony - and saving scores of children left in Kony's wake. Childers, who has been profiled on Dateline NBC, operates an orphanage in Sudan where he takes care of over 300 children made orphans by Kony. His dramatic story is told in Another Man's war, which was released in bookstores nation wide in March.
Peter Fonda, actor and friend of Childers, said "Another Man's War is about true terrorism... against more than 200,000 children in northern Uganda and South Sudan. Sam Childers - a fighter and a preacher (some call him a mercenary) - tirelessly leads a small militia into the jungle, daring to fight against a vicious army outnumbering him one thousand to one. One man can make a difference. Sam Childers certainly does."
Angels of East Africa is a humanitarian organization dedicated to rescuing, restoring, and enabling the children caught in the crossfire of rebel atrocities in South Sudan and Northern Uganda.
Angels of East Africa remains in the heart of the conflict zone, allowing them to rescue as many children as possible.
